The 31st Annual Battle of Aiken Reenactment is set to take place this weekend from February 21 to 23, 2025, at 1210 Powell Pond Road, Aiken, South Carolina. This event offers a unique opportunity to experience history firsthand, commemorating the 160th anniversary of Sherman's March.
Event Highlights:
Friday, February 21: The event kicks off with a School Field Trip program, welcoming up to 4,000 students to engage with living history exhibits.
Saturday, February 22: The festival opens to the public, featuring interactive stations where attendees can learn about Civil War music, medical field hospitals, military camps, artillery demonstrations, and 19th-century crafts. A special "Night Fire" scenario is scheduled for 7 PM, showcasing the dramatic use of period weaponry, including cannons and an authentic WWII flamethrower.
Sunday, February 23: The event continues with additional battle reenactments and concludes with a historically accurate 19th-century church service.
