My husband and I witnessed this unique spring phenomenon a few years ago in late May at Congaree National Park. It’s one of only TWO locations in the entire country where you can see SYNCHRONIZED blinking fireflies, and it only happens for a period of about 2 - 4 weeks every Spring!
Congaree National Park is a little over an hour’s drive from Aiken, and of course you have to go at night when it’s dark. You must reserve tickets using the link below.
