Let's Horse Around Aiken!

Looking for something fun to do as you explore downtown Aiken, SC?

Kids, horse lovers, art enthusiasts and the young at heart can all enjoy this fun scavenger hunt organized by the City of Aiken and the Aiken Center for the Arts!

You may have noticed the nearly life-sized painted horse statues around Aiken. Originally, there were 31 created by artists and auctioned off in 2004 as a fundraiser for ArtPlay, which offers art scholarships to children and the elderly. The project, masterminded by Aiken resident and philanthropist Anne Campbell, was called Horseplay, and it raised $227,000 selling the statues and an additional $100,000 in Horseplay related posters, memorabilia and merchandise.

Of the original 31, nine are included on the treasure map available to find downtown. Happy Horse Hunting!
